Pitch Night Recap: The Ideas That Blew Us Away

Our December Pitch Night brought together 5 founders, 3 investors, and an audience of 50 community members. The energy was incredible — here are the highlights.

How Pitch Night Works

Each founder gets 5 minutes to pitch their idea, followed by 3 minutes of Q&A from our investor panel. The audience votes for their favorite, and the winner gets a featured spot in our community and a mentorship session with one of our investor panelists.

No slides required. No formal dress code. Just you, your idea, and a room full of people who want to see you succeed.

The Pitches

1. NutriScan — Personalized Nutrition from a Photo **Pitched by:** Sarah Chen, Product Designer

Take a photo of your meal, and NutriScan uses computer vision to identify ingredients and calculate nutritional information. It then provides personalized recommendations based on your health goals and dietary restrictions.

The demo was impressive — Sarah showed the app identifying a complex salad with 90% accuracy. The investor panel was particularly interested in the B2B potential for corporate wellness programs.

2. RentReady — Equipment Sharing for Small Businesses **Pitched by:** Alex Rivera, Operations Manager

A marketplace where small businesses can rent equipment from each other. Think Airbnb for industrial equipment. Alex showed data from 50 interviews with small business owners, proving strong demand.

The panel loved the unit economics and the sustainability angle. One investor noted it could be "the Faire of equipment rental."

3. MoodPulse — Anonymous Team Wellness Tracking **Pitched by:** Jordan Lee, HR Consultant

An anonymous daily check-in tool that helps managers understand team morale without compromising individual privacy. Uses aggregated data and AI-powered insights to identify burnout risks early.

This one generated the most discussion. The panel debated the privacy implications and the challenge of getting honest responses. Jordan handled the tough questions with confidence and data.

4. CarbonCart — Shop Your Carbon Footprint **Pitched by:** Emma Watson, Sustainability Consultant

A browser extension that shows the carbon footprint of products while you shop online. Partners with brands to offer carbon-neutral shipping options.

The audience loved this one — it won the popular vote. The panel suggested focusing on a specific vertical (fashion or electronics) before going broad.

5. SubTracker — Your Subscription Command Center **Pitched by:** Chris Park, Finance Analyst

One dashboard to track all your SaaS subscriptions, get alerts before renewals, and find cheaper alternatives. Chris showed a working beta with impressive bank feed integration.

The panel was most excited about the data play — aggregated subscription data could be incredibly valuable for market research.

The Winner

The audience vote went to CarbonCart, with MoodPulse as a close second. Emma will be working with investor panelist Hannah Berg on refining her go-to-market strategy.
